The Knowledge Organisers contain the information we want students to have in their long term memory. Teachers will plan activities and give students opportunities to use the Knowledge Organisers in lessons and for homework. Teachers will help students learn the information in the Knowledge Organisers.
Organisation
All students in Years 7 to 10 now have professionally produced A4 colour Knowledge Organisers. They are part of the equipment students are expected to bring to school every day. Students should have them out on their desks and turned to the relevant pages.
Curriculum
They are a fundamental part of our curriculum 7 to 11 and give a way for students/parents to see what has been learnt and will be learnt.
Teaching and learning
The most common ways they will be used in lessons are for;
- Starters,
- Setting homework,
- Testing,
- Assessments,
- Supporting classwork and homework.
Assessments and tests
All assessments for KS3 and KS4 will test the content of the Knowledge Organisers.
Talking to students
Throughout the year teachers will be talking to students about what they are learning and what they have learnt. Teachers will check that students know the information in the Knowledge Organisers including Knowledge Organisers from the previous year.
