Sixth Form
Deciding where to go and what to study at Post 16 is one of the most important decisions and we want to support students in making the right choices. Interviews are offered to help determine the most suitable combination of courses and we also have a ‘Transition Day’ in June to allow all students to meet their teachers and get a taste of what their chosen courses can offer. We warmly welcome applicants from other schools, and work hard to ensure they have a smooth transition and a meaningful induction to Pudsey Grammar.
Internal and new to school applicants are expected to have performed well in their GCSEs and we assess each application on merit. Our highly trained staff will be able to provide expert advice on which A Level subjects or BTECs may be most suitable to pursue.
You will be welcomed into School for an interview with the Director of Studies, followed by an Induction Day in June. You can be assured of a very warm welcome from pupils and staff.
If you would like to arrange a visit or require any further information, our Admissions Team will be happy to hear from you. Please contact the Admissions Team via sixthform@pudseygrammar.co.uk.
If you are a new to school student wanting to apply for a place in our Sixth Form, please complete our application form below:
Post-16 New to School Application Form
Once this form has been submitted a reference request will be made to their current school and the student will be invited in for an interview with a member of the Post 16 team.
Subsequent to this an offer may be made dependent on exam results.
If an offer is made attendance is required on the Transition Day to ensure the correct courses have been chosen.
Each year 11 student will complete a google form (during tutorial) indicating their initial intention of where they would like to study and potential areas of interest or subjects. This takes place in November of each academic year.
Every student will receive a 1:1 discussion regarding their Post 16 progression. Subsequent to this a provisional place may be awarded depending on exam results.
